Looking back at 2009, looking forward to 2010 weddings

I’m starting to get really pumped for the 2010 weddings that await! It all begins next month (unless some crazy last minute bride needs a photographer in the next 9 days…) While I am very excited about the weddings lined up for this year, I don’t want to forget about what a great year 2009 was. We’re back with a few more wedding images from Ki Yong and Carolyn’s wedding at Grace Church of Glendora! I mentioned they also held a traditional pae baek ceremony, and here are some of the images!

What a privilege it was to photograph the wedding of Ki Yong Kim and Carolyn Wallace! Ki Yong is such an amazing man, a leader, and a friend. Carolyn made a stunning bride, and is a wonderful woman for Ki Yong. To be able to share in this day with them is something I will never forget.

I have a lot of work to do in organizing and editing their photos, but I wanted to share just a few quick images that stood out to me. Enjoy, and check back later in the week for a more detailed look at the images from Ki Yong and Carolyn’s wedding. Ki Yong and Carolyn, thank you so much again for being such a pleasure to work with and being such good friends!

Diana and Ryan wedding, part one

Working with John to capture moments from Diana and Ryan’s wedding day was spectacular. The wedding took place in Temecula, and it was absolutely beautiful. This will be a two-part blog post as there are many images to share!

New Camera!

Thanks to Uncle Sam, I was fortunate enough to be able to upgrade from the old Canon 30D to a new Canon 5d mark II.

Some of the great things about this camera:

full frame sensor (means it will get the full effect of my wide angle lenses)
21+ megapixels, almost 3x my old camera. Allows for much greater cropping flexibility and editing flexibility, not to mention huge prints!
Much better higher-ISO shooting (translation-better low light. With my lenses in this camera, it can darn near see in the dark!)
Full 1080p HD-video! Need I say more? With the addition of a reasonably priced microphone, this means big things for upcoming weddings!
Lastly, it means that my old camera can now serve as a second camera, backup camera, and wife’s camera!

The detail in the images this camera produces is incredible!
