I’m starting to get really pumped for the 2010 weddings that await! It all begins next month (unless some crazy last minute bride needs a photographer in the next 9 days…) While I am very excited about the weddings lined up for this year, I don’t want to forget about what a great year 2009 was. Here are links to some of the work I did last year.

Kristin and James – slideshow
September 7, 2009Hi! We’re back with a slideshow from Kristin and James’ wedding! Enjoy! (the soft piano music starts a few seconds in)
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph James and Kristin (Martin) Shook’s wedding over the weekend! I have a lot of photos to work through, but here are a few, just to preview what’s coming!

The wedding party! A lot of Biola flavor here!

Nick Vujicic – Life without limbs
June 29, 2009Anyone hear of Nick Vujicic and Life without limbs? He has an amazing ministry going on that he is serving God with. I will not try to say too much about him as you would be better off going to his site, but Nick was born without arms or legs. He has a fascinating story. He spoke last week at the annual Coaches of Influence (COIN) honor banquet (another amazing ministry that reaches out to coaches!). I was honored to be able to document the event for COIN. One piece of encouragement from the night: “Stop asking for a miracle and be a miracle!”
Bottom line- Nick was just a ton of fun to be around!

Ki Yong and Carolyn- Pae Baek Wedding Ceremony
June 29, 2009We’re back with a few more wedding images from Ki Yong and Carolyn’s wedding at Grace Church of Glendora! I mentioned they also held a traditional pae baek ceremony, and here are some of the images!
Here is the scene

I would rather let Ki Yong and Carolyn do the explaining, so here is the information that was on all the tables at the reception.

Ki Yong and Carolyn’s Wedding
June 21, 2009As promised, here are some more images from the 6/13 wedding of Ki Yong Kim and Carolyn Wallace. I am not sure which was more fun; shooting their wedding or editing their wedding photos! Ki Yong and Carolyn, I want to say thanks for the prvilege of documenting your wedding day.
Here we are at the beautiful Grace Church of Glendora. While driving to the church, it was actually raining a good deal. Fortunately the rain calmed down and it was nice and overcast for most of the day, making for great lighting.

Here’s the beautiful bride.
Just a few more hours!

Beautiful smiles

Turns out the umbrella was not necessary.

I absolutely loved the colors they went with. The red and yellow looked great together. Our bride and groom look amazing!

Focus on the bride

Details in the fabric…

Carolyn with two of her favorite people, I’m sure.

The family! Everyone was so sweet and nice.

Beautiful flowers for the ladies. I could not get over these colors.

The girls looking wonderful

This is one of my favorite images from the day. Ki Yong’s father pinching his son’s cheek… he’s going to love this one!

The walkway prepared with rose petals.

Prayer before the ceremony

A sweet moment before getting married

Another sweet moment before getting married. There were quite a few of these.

Vows, and then, the kiss. Their first kiss, too!

Newlyweds!

Some alone time in the park, a slow dance

On the left, Ki Yong dips his new bride. On the right… hey, remember how I mentioned there were a lot of sweet moments?

Flower detail with the rings!

And of course, the cake.

The bouquet toss… Ki Yong’s brother in law’s mother caught it!

And they’re off!

You may notice a particular element of this day is missing- the Paebaek ceremony. I promise that I did not lose the memory card with those images, but they will be on here later as a separate post. It will be much shorter than this one.
After Ki Yong and Carolyn left, I went to say good-bye to Ki Yong’s mother, Emily (English name), and she told me how to say “see you later” in Korean. While I can’t say that in a blog entry, I’ll put the text translation: 나중에 또 만나요
